RSA lands CNA talent to expand in US & international property market
RSA Insurance Group has boosted its specialty lines division with a key senior addition from CNA. Amidst the challenges of capacity in the wholesale property market and rising costs, RSA sees an opportunity to grow its book in a controlled and sustainable manner.
Linda Deans (pictured) has joined RSA as a senior specialist underwriter – US & international property in its UK specialty lines business.
UK specialty lines is part of Intact’s Global Specialty Lines, which offers integrated global propositions for brokers and customers with more complex international risks.
Deans will be based in London and responsible for the growth of RSA’s US & international wholesale property book. She will start her new role in January and report to Jonathan Sigwart, underwriting leader – wholesale international property, UK specialty lines.
Deans has more than 20 years’ underwriting experience. She joins RSA from CNA Hardy, where she was a property underwriter since 2010.
Sigwart said: “There is a lack of capacity in the wholesale property market driven by heightened natural catastrophe losses and increased (re)insurer costs meaning a lot of business is coming to London. At RSA, we understand the market challenges but also see an opportunity to support clients and brokers while growing the book in a controlled and sustainable manner.
“We’re really pleased Linda has decided to join RSA and our UK Specialty business. Not only is she experienced and well respected, it’s also a competitive jobs market and getting the best people on board isn’t easy. Linda joining the team will help us to offer an even more comprehensive service to both brokers and clients.”
