RSA rehires talent from Howden with Chubb/Aviva insights
RSA Insurance has rehired a senior specialist underwriter, who left the firm in 2017 for roles at Chubb and Aviva, to grow its presence in the UK accident & health (A&H) market. He joins RSA from Howden.
RSA has appointed Michael Jensen (pictured) as A&H senior specialist underwriter in its UK specialty lines business, which is part of Intact’s Global Specialty Lines that offers integrated global propositions for brokers and customers with more complex international risks.
Jensen will be based in Manchester and responsible for helping to drive the growth of A&H in the regions. He starts his new role in September and will report to Laura Fox, regional underwriting manager, A&H, UK specialty lines.
Jensen is an experienced A&H underwriter who started his insurance career at RSA in 2013, working in both A&H and schemes. In the time since he left RSA, Michael has worked in A&H Underwriting and Senior Underwriting roles at both Chubb and Aviva. He joins RSA from Howden, where he served as an account broker for the past year.
Fox said: “Demand for A&H cover has continued to increase since the COVID-19 pandemic, as businesses explore the best ways to protect their people. Meanwhile, technology and the greater adoption of hybrid working are bringing new opportunities and challenges for employers and their employees. At RSA, we are striving to meet those needs and listening to our customers.
I’m delighted to be working with Michael again and welcoming him back to RSA. He’s very well respected by brokers and will bring a wealth of experience to the role. He is a great asset to me and the team and I’ve no doubt he’ll play a key role in helping us grow our business and our ever-increasing presence in the regions.”
