Shepherd Compello hires former AJG exec
Broker Shepherd Compello has appointed Mel Alexander as a director responsible to lead its entrance into the lender protection market.
She will also be responsible for the development of specialist delegated binding authority business.
Alexander joins from Decus Insurance Brokers, where she served as chief operating officer. Prior to this, she served as managing director of the binding authority division of Arthur J Gallagher.
The firm, previously called EPG Insurance Services, launched its rebranded identity in November 2014.
John Shepherd, chief executive officer of Shepherd Compello, said: “I am delighted that Mel is joining the team. We launched Shepherd Compello last November with a commitment to bring a fresh, new approach to the market with the best talent.
“Mel Alexander is evidence of this commitment. She complements the strengths of the team we have and will help us drive forward into new markets and opportunities.”
Alexander added: “I am excited to be joining Shepherd Compello. It is a business with a family feeling, built on traditional values offering a specialist, individual service to MGAs. These values reflect areal appetite in the market for an independent, niche broker who can offer a service which differentiates us from the big broking houses.”
