Sompo Canopius COO to depart

Stephen Manning, chief operating officer (COO) at Sompo Canopius, has unveiled plans to depart at the end of 2016.

Manning joined Sompo Canopius in August 2005 as chief risk officer. He has held a number of senior roles across the group, most recently as COO and head of Sompo Holdings regional ERM centre for US and Europe.

Stuart Davies, chief executive officer of Sompo Canopius, said: “I would like to thank Steve for all his vision, drive, enthusiasm and dedication. As COO, he has led all the business’s support functions, including the significant Solvency II programme, and has built a platform supporting multiple classes of business. We wish him the best for the future. We will be looking at Steve’s responsibilities and decide how they are managed in due course.”

Manning added: “I have enjoyed 11 exhilarating years at Sompo Canopius and it’s now time for me to look for new challenges. I would like to thank the leadership team and all my colleagues here for their great support.”
