Sompo International expands insurance operations in Europe

Sompo International has further expanded its insurance operation in Iberia and the wider Continental Europe market.

The Bermuda-based specialty property and casualty re/insurer is opening its first office in Madrid on July 1.

Jamie Cañellas, country manager insurance Iberia, said: “By establishing an office in the capital, we are taking a crucial step in the continued expansion of our insurance operation in Iberia and the wider Continental Europe market. With offices in both Barcelona and now Madrid, we will have two strong platforms from which we can better serve the Spanish market. Given its rich talent pool, Madrid will also play host to a growing team of Sompo International experts.
