Sompo International swoops on AIG and Marsh for key roles in Europe

Bermuda-based global re/insurer  Sompo International Holdings has hired two senior executives from AIG and Marsh to expand its specialty offering in Europe, particularly Germany, as part of its strategic growth plan.

Eric Kox has been appointed as country manager, Germany to lead Sompo International’s insurance operations in the country, with Susanne Adam joining the professional lines underwriting team.

Kox joins Sompo from AIG Europe SA, and Adam comes from Marsh.

Julian James, chief executive officer (CEO) of international insurance said: “The expansion of our specialty offering in Europe, and particularly Germany, is an important strategic part of Sompo International’s plan for growth.
