Specialty MGA Optio plucks Hartford grad to lead financial lines

Specialty managing general agent (MGA)  Optio Group plucked a lead underwriter from  The Hartford to lead its insurance underwriting for its financial lines.

Victoria Barrett (Pictured) comes to Optio from The Hartford she held the roles of senior underwriter / underwriting manager since 2018. Prior to that she spent nine years at Aon, most recently as executive director and chief broking officer.

Barrett has been tasked with building out the existing financial lines covers in professional indemnity and medical billings, plus exploring opportunities to expand into new of financial lines products and untapped geographies.

Optio executive chairman Matthew Fosh commented: “We are delighted to welcome Victoria to Optio’s growing team. Her arrival in our financial lines business builds further on our strength and depth in that class, matching our presence throughout our specialty portfolio, comprising construction, nuclear, W&I, A&H, marine K&R/war, PVT and political risk.”
