‘Stability’ in focus: Convex shuffles top ranks in reinsurance leadership
International specialty re/insurer Convex Group has appointed a new Bermuda chief and group deputy chief underwriter for reinsurance, as part of a leadership shift within the business.
Paul Simons (pictured right) will become Bermuda chief executive officer (CEO) and Christophe Chandler (pictured left) will become group deputy chief underwriting officer reinsurance, effective January 1, 2024, subject to regulatory approval.
Simons will continue to be based in Bermuda and Chandler in London both reporting to Matt Paskin (pictured centre) , group chief underwriting officer (CUO) Reinsurance and chairman of the reinsurance executive committee (RExCo).
Convex RExCo will comprise Paskin, Simons, Chandler, Roy Foster - UK CUO reinsurance, and Richard Slater - Bermuda CUO reinsurance.
Simons joined Convex in December 2022 as deputy CEO of Bermuda with more than 25 years of experience in the Bermudian reinsurance market. Chandler joined Convex in 2019 leading reinsurance specialty; he has a wealth of experience in property and speciality in the London, Bermuda and European markets.
Paskin said: “Convex places stability at the forefront of our client offering. We are delighted for Paul and Christophe and I look forward to working with them both as well as Roy and Rich, and the rest of our excellent reinsurance team.”
