Starr poaches head of marine UK and Europe from Marsh

Starr Insurance Companies has hired  Marsh's cargo insurance specialist to lead its marine operations in the UK and Europe.

John O'Brien has joined CV Starr as head of marine in London.

O'Brien was most recently senior vice president at broker Marsh in London. He has extensive experience in marine and cargo lines of business, with expertise in underwriting and broking complex global risks through a variety of distribution channels.

Prior to joining Marsh in 2018, O'Brien was a senior partner at JLT Specialty where he worked in the cargo team in London. He has also previously worked at AXA, RSA Insurance Group, Chubb, CNA Insurance and ACE Group.
