Swiss Re digs Zurich and the intern archives for corporate climate leader

Swiss Re has hunted down a former intern and one-time Zurich nat cat guru to return to the firm as lead for climate risk solutions.

Annemarie Büttner will lead the climate risk solutions services for the Corporate Solutions division of Swiss Re.

For Büttner, the post is a return to Swiss Re, where she did an internship and master's thesis in 2015 before launching on a career at Zurich where she climbed the ranks as a nat cat analyst.

Büttner spent one interim year providing climate risk insights and solutions for global corporations at CelsiusPro, a Swiss company specialized in structuring and originating tailored weather index products worldwide.

Büttner said of her posting: “In my new role, I work with corporations that need to understand how they will be impacted by climate change and how to manage the risks that they face.”
