Swiss Re expands Hong Kong presence, appoints branch manager

Swiss Re International, the Luxembourg-based subsidiary of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, has obtained formal authorisation from the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance Hong Kong to carry on with general insurance business in or from Hong Kong.

Swiss Re International’s newly licensed Hong Kong branch begins operations immediately, and offers insurance products to large and mid-sized corporate clients.

The Hong Kong branch, in addition to standard property/casualty insurance, offers professional and financial lines, engineering and construction, energy, marine, credit and customised risk-transfer solutions.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has also appointed Dylan Byrant as the branch manager for Hong Kong.

Bryant has been based in Hong Kong since 2009, joined Swiss Re Corporate Solution in February 2016, and is also director of the Chartered Insurance Institute Hong Kong (CIIHK).
