Swiss Re hires Allianz exec as chief technology officer

Swiss Re has appointed Youngran Kim has been appointed to the newly created role of group chief technology officer (CTO). She will join the company on April 1, 2020 in Zurich.

Youngran joins Swiss Re from Allianz Asia Pacific, where she currently holds the role of regional chief information officer, reporting to the CEO of Asia Pacific.

Before joining Allianz, she was the regional CTO for AXA Asia for eight years and held numerous executive roles, leading major digital transformations across APAC entities in Allianz, AXA, ING and the IT Industry.

Anette Bronder, Swiss Re's group chief operating officer, said: "We are very excited to bring Youngran Kim on board – as Swiss Re's Group Chief Technology Officer, she will further develop our technology platforms and support Swiss Re's digital transformation journey.

“Youngran is a versatile and dynamic executive with over 25 years of professional experience and brings a combination of insurance industry and strong technology know-how, with deep experience in Cloud Transformation and insurance related processes’ engineering and mining."
