Toa Re poaches top actuarial talent from Everest Re

Toa Re America, the US subsidiary of Japan’s Toa Reinsurance Company, has tapped a senior actuary with 30+ years’ industry experience from Everest Re to expand its actuarial capabilities.

Tom Passante joins the reinsurer as senior vice president and senior actuary. He will report to Julie Halper, executive vice president and chief actuary.

Passante was previously at Everest Re, where he held a number of senior roles including chief reinsurance pricing actuary, chief risk officer, and most recently head of actuarial independent analysis.
