Two top executives depart MS Amlin to pursue other opportunities

Global re/insurer  MS Amlin has announced that two top executives have left the company to pursue other opportunities.

These include MS Amlin AG's chief executive officer (CEO) Christopher Beazley (pictured left), and Reijer Groenveld (pictured right), chief financial officer (CFO) of its European primary insurer MS AISE.

Beazley has stepped down as of August 31 after leading MS Amlin AG as CEO for the past three years. He originally joined MS Amlin in 2007 and has held several leadership roles across the MS Amlin group of companies over the last decade.

Groenveld will be replaced by Frédéric Fischer as new CFO of MS Amlin Insurance S.E. (MS AISE), who joins the business from re/insurer AXA on September 1, subject to regulatory approval. Groenveld will leave after the transition period in October.

Fischer was most recently CFO at AXA Corporate Solutions. As part of his 25-year career at AXA, he has held a variety of senior financial roles across the P&C division, overseeing financial controlling, tax and accounting, reinsurance and legal and compliance operations.

The company stated that it is 'eagerly anticipating' announcing Beazley's replacement in the near future. MS AAG's board of directors has concluded negotiations with a "well-respected reinsurance leader with over 30 years of industry experience". It said the prospective candidate has successfully led global strategic initiatives across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, which will help drive further growth and innovation at MS AAG.

As part of the transition, Martin Albers, currently serving as chairman of the board of directors for MS Amlin AG, will function as interim CEO.

Albers said: “On behalf of the entire team at MS Amlin, we thank Chris for his service and dedication to the company. He has navigated MS AAG through a complex transition, laying a strong foundation to carry the business forward. We appreciate his contributions as CEO and various leadership roles over the past decade. We wish Chris every success in his future endeavors.”

Ludovic Senecaut, CEO of MS Amlin Insurance S.E., thanked outgoing CFO Groenveld for his long standing commitment and significant contributions to the business over the past 10 years.

Commenting on Fischer's appointment, he said: “I am delighted to announce Frédéric’s appointment to this important role. With his extensive experience in senior roles within the insurance industry, and strong financial, accounting and actuarial background, I am confident that he will be an invaluable addition to the leadership team as we continue to focus on executing our business strategy and ambitious goals. I look forward to welcoming him to MS AISE."
