WCL appoints Matt Snape to support strategic growth

WCL, a software business based in London that improves the flow of business in re/insurance markets worldwide, has appointed Matt Snape as head of business development, to support its growth strategy.

Based in London, Snape will focus on growing WCL’s existing client relationships, as well as developing WCL’s network of clients globally, following the acquisition of WCL by Zywave in 2020.

Snape has 25 years’ experience in leading business development and sales teams in the insurance industry. He joins WCL from Charles Taylor InsureTech, where he served as sales and accounts director, responsible for growing the sales and marketing team globally. Prior to Charles Taylor InsureTech, he worked for CGI as client director, insurance, where he was responsible for growing CGI's insurance propositions with specific focus on insurer distributed pricing hubs, digital transformation, and bringing products to market.

“Matt’s appointment marks the fifth hire we have made during lockdown, and I am pleased to welcome someone of his calibre to our team,” said James Willison, managing director at WCL. “As we look to accelerate our growth, following the acquisition by Zywave, appointing Matt will be invaluable in broadening our client offering, strengthening our team in London, and further enhancing our market standing.”

Snape added: “Having known James and the WCL team for many years I am delighted to be joining the business at such an exciting point in its growth. My aim at WCL is to build on the brilliant work the team have achieved so far to support the company in reaching its full potential.”
