Wefox taps tech heavyweight from Google, Amazon as new CTO
Insurtech wefox has appointed a new chief technology officer, who brings more than three decades of experience from Amazon, Google and Expedia, as the company accelerates its plans to launch a new platform that it says will connect the entire insurance ecosystem.
Paul Onnen takes over as CTO from Sergi Banos who was promoted to chief platform officer (CPO).
In his new role, Onnen will lead the wefox platform business strategy, overseeing its implementation, development and operations.
Onnen has more than 30 years’ experience in founding, directing, and executing business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) SaaS platforms and products for organisations including Amazon, Google, Expedia, Nordstrom.com, and other startups. He is widely recognised for his expertise in fintech, Big Data, SaaS, AI/ML, and data security.
