
When can D&O policies pay general liability claims?
Between 2015 and 2018, a series of wildfires occurred in California. The 2015 Butte Fire, the 2017 North Bay Fires, and the 2018 Camp Fires resulted in considerable loss of life and damage to property. It was subsequently alleged by state authorities and those affected, and reported in The D&O Diary in October 2022, that the fires were caused by Pacific Gas & Electric’s (PG&E) electrical transmission facilities, and actions and omissions of their directors and officers (D&O).
