Willis Towers Watson CEO takes board seat at US firm Maximus

John Haley, the chief executive officer and director of Willis Towers Watson, has taken a position on the board of Maximus, a US-based outsourcing company that provides management and consulting services to the government.

Haley will serve as a director in Class I and another appointee Jan Madsen will serve as a director in Class II.

Maximus' board of directors appointed Haley as a member of the nominating and governance committee and the technology committee, and Madsen as member of the audit committee and the nominating and governance committee.

Haley and Madsen replace Russell Beliveau and Paul Lederer who have completed their board service.

Haley previously served as one of the Maximus board of directors from 2002 – 2019.

Since January 2016, Haley has served as CEO and director of Willis Towers Watson. Prior to that, he served as the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Towers Watson & Co. Previously, he served as president and CEO of Watson Wyatt Worldwide from 1999 until its merger with Towers Perrin, Forster & Crosby, Inc. in 2010.

Peter Pond, chairman of the Maximus board of directors, commented: “On behalf of the entire Board, I am pleased to welcome Jan to Maximus and John’s return. Jan has strong financial and operation experience, as well as people management insight that will benefit the Maximus Board.

"John’s expertise and deep, historical understanding of Maximus will serve the Board well during a time of board refreshment as we continue to execute on our strategic priorities to drive shareholder value. I would also like to thank Russ and Paul for their many years of dedicated service.”
