XL Catlin appoints Jardine as CEO of Lloyd's Syndicate 2003
XL Catlin has appointed Paul Jardine as the CEO of Syndicate 2003, which is managed by Catlin Underwriting Agency, and CEO of Catlin Insurance Company (UK).
Syndicate 2003 has been the largest syndicate at Lloyd’s in terms of gross premiums written since 2007, according to XL Catlin. The syndicate writes a full range of property, casualty, marine, aviation and other specialty coverages.
He assumes both of these roles from Andrew McMellin.
Jardine will retain his role as chief experience officer of the XL Catlin leadership team, a position he has held since May 2015. Prior to this, he served as chief operating officer. Jardine had previously served as the Syndicate CEO from 2003 to 2008.
The appointment has been confirmed to be part of wider management changes at the firm.
XL Group had previously revealed a planned realignment of its property/casualty operating model, with all appointments effective January 1, 2017.
Spearheading this restructured operation is Greg Hendrick, who had been appointed to the role of president of property/casualty.
