XL Catlin’s CIO retires; successor named
Re/insurer XL Catlin has appointed a new chief investment officer (CIO) to succeed Benji Meuli who will retire at the end of this year.
Andre Keller, currently the head of global asset positioning and a managing director at XL Catlin, has been promoted to step into the CIO role. He will report to XL Group’s chief financial officer Pete Porrino and will be based in New York.
Prior to this, Keller was the head of CIO office and deputy CIO at Catlin Group. He had held various leadership roles at XL Catlin.
Keller has also worked at Nationale Suisse in Basel as head of asset management and deputy CIO, and held a number of senior asset management roles at Swiss Re.
Porrino said: “The fact that we are able to fill this role from within demonstrates the high quality of talent here at XL Catlin. Benji has been a valuable confidant to me and while we will certainly miss his astute advice and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement, we are pleased that Andre is willing and able to step into the CIO role.
“We are confident that with his extensive experience Andre will transition smoothly into the role and provide strategic investment insight and guidance to our leadership team.”
