Zurich North America hires new chief claims officer from Allied World

Zurich North America has hired Allied World's Paul Lavelle as chief claims officer. He succeeds Steve Hatch, who retired earlier in August.

Lavelle will report directly to Zurich North America CEO Kathleen Savio and be based at Zurich’s North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill.

Lavelle most recently served as senior vice president, North America claims operations at Allied World Assurance Company and prior to that as president and founder of LVL Claims Services.

“With more than 25 years of insurance experience, Paul is considered one of the best in the industry with a deep understanding of the importance of driving and delivering effective claims services, including at that crucial moment when an insurance customer files a claim,” said Savio. “Paul is a strong people and relationship leader, and I’m proud to welcome him to the Zurich North America Senior Team.”
