Zurich taps energy & construction insurance vet to lead UK commercial

Zurich Insurance Group will tap an energy segment insider to lead its UK commercial insurance.

Frank Streidl (Pictured), currently Zurich’s UK head of energy, marine and construction, will take up the role of head of commercial insurance in the UK from the start of 2023. He replaces Rob Kuchinski who is retiring from his role at Zurich at the end of year.

Streidl joined Zurich in 2010 and has held roles including head of energy EMEA and global head of upstream energy. Frank had previously been with Accenture in Germany as a financial services consultant and at Hannover Rück as an energy underwriter.

Zurich’s UK CEO Tim Bailey commented: “Zurich has an abundance of very talented individuals, one of whom is Frank and I am delighted he is joining our Executive Committee to help us take the business to the next level.”

Frank Streidl said of his appointment: “I’m very proud to have the opportunity to lead such a talented group of people. In the last few years, we’ve successfully rebalanced our portfolio. I’m really looking forward to leading the commercial insurance team through the next stages of our strategy and joining the UK Executive Committee.”
