Latin America cashes in on soft market, picks up new structures

The global property cat reinsurance glut spilled over into Latin America at the 1/7 renewal exercise, allowing cedants to save money, push their protection towards proportional treaty and explore new tailor-made options to cover lower layers, analysts at Howden Re said of the renewal exercise now wrapping up.
