Major global IT outage ‘not a cyber attack,’ IT fix on hand

A global IT outage forced shutdowns across a broad swathe of industries beginning late Thursday (July 18) US time, but was traced by early Friday to a software defect by an anti-virus provider and not a malevolent cyber incident.
