Marsh/JLT veteran to move to Gallagher as CEO UK & Ireland retail broking
Global brokerage Gallagher has hired a Marsh/JLT veteran as new chief executive of its UK and Ireland retail business.
Nick Harris (pictured) has been appointed CEO of Gallagher’s UK & Ireland retail broking, subject to regulatory approval.
Harris joins Gallagher from Marsh, where he was CEO of its Pacific division, a position he took up when the business purchased JLT in 2019. In this role, he led operations and trading in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Fiji, overseeing 2,500 employees. He also led the teams during the integration of JLT into Marsh. Prior to that, Harris spent a number of years in a variety of c-suite roles for JLT in the Pacific region.
Harris will join in July this year and report to Michael Rea, CEO of Gallagher’s UK business, which includes Gallagher Specialty and Pen Underwriting alongside UK & Ireland Retail.
