Mid-market margins strong, but race to trend is a stretch: Hartford

US middle market commercial insurance continues to deliver healthy margins, although downward pressure is likely across a smattering of lines in 2026 as rising competition nips away at the pricing lead over loss cost trend, the CEO of mid-market leader The Hartford has claimed.
