Miller lands 40+ year industry veteran to build dedicated global power offering

Independent specialist re/insurance broker Miller has attracted an industry veteran, formerly of Travelers Lloyd’s Syndicate, with more than 40 years of underwriting experience to build out its dedicated global power offering.

Nick Rnjak has joined Miller as client advocate for its onshore energy team.

Rnjak is based in London and reports to Martin Henderson, head of energy & construction at Miller, with particular responsibility for scoping and developing a dedicated global power offering, as well as lending his considerable experience to Miller’s wider Onshore capabilities.

Rnjak has been operating in the re/insurance industry for over four decades, including in CUO and active underwriter roles at Travelers Lloyd’s Syndicate 5000. His primary focus is on power generation and renewable energy, both in its construction and operation, and his experience is global, having been involved in insuring generating and distribution assets in all five continents of the world, both in regulated and non-regulated environments. Prior to joining Miller, Rnjak was CEO of ADNIC International’s representative office in London.

Martin Henderson, head of energy & construction at Miller, said: “Nick is a highly regarded industry veteran whose global track record and forty-plus years of underwriting experience will be tremendous assets to the Miller team as we look to develop a dedicated global Power offering. As we continue to invest in our energy proposition, we see a great opportunity to expand on our existing Power capabilities in London and internationally and, with his deep expertise and market relationships across power generation and renewable energy, Nick is perfectly placed to help build out a specialist global team.”

Rnjak commented: “Through its client-centric and innovative approach to meeting clients’ evolving needs, Miller is building a differentiated offering across the energy sector, and the further expansion of Miller’s Power capabilities is the natural next piece in the puzzle. As an independent business with a strongly articulated growth story, it is extremely well positioned to support clients in a complex and fast-changing risk landscape that requires agile, global and specialised capabilities. This is a very exciting time to be working with Martin and the rest of his team on this next phase of expansion.”
