MS Reinsurance targets EMEA P&C expansion with AXIS Re senior leader

Global reinsurer and MS Amlin AG company MS Reinsurance has tapped a senior leader from AXIS Re to head up its Europe, Middle East and African (EMEA) property and casualty (P&C) business.

Andy Hottinger joined the company’s Zurich office as head of EMEA P&C. He is responsible for leading the operational and growth strategy for MS Reinsurance’s mature and growth markets in the region. 

Hottinger has 20 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting and has held leadership positions responsible for both EMEA and Latin American business as well as senior underwriting roles in engineering. He also has experience in business development, client management, and underwriting.

Previously, Hottinger was president of EMEA & LatAm at Axis Re, where he led the non-life underwriting teams focusing on core P&C and selected specialty lines of business. 

Hottinger will report to chief underwriting officer international Joerg Bruniecki, who said: “I am delighted to welcome Andy to our team. His deep market expertise and excellent reputation will help us to expand our customer-centric approach, provide an exceptional experience for our valued partners, and strengthen our growing, global underwriting team.”
