Acappella poaches AmTrust execs
Acappella Syndicate 2014 has appointed David Jones as divisional head of its casualty insurance portfolio.
Jones joins from AmTrust at Lloyd’s, where he was divisional head of casualty. Prior to AmTrust, he spent over a decade leading Markel’s casualty team.
Other previous employers include Mapfre Re, where he played a pivotal role in the establishment of the company’s London operations, Scottish Lion and Sphere Drake.
He is joined by Laurie Devereaux and Helen Beamish, who also join from AmTrust at Lloyd’s, as class underwriters, and Caroline Matthews as trainee underwriter.
The Lloyd’s syndicate, managed by Ironshore’s Pembroke Managing Agency, is a conversion of Special Purpose Syndicate (SPS) 6110.
David Indge, active underwriter at Acappella, said: “I am delighted to welcome David and his team to Acappella. These appointments demonstrate Acappella Syndicate 2014’s ongoing strategy to build out a diversified business through the hire of entrepreneurially minded underwriters who demonstrate a wealth of expertise in their underwriting classes.”
Jones added: “I’m greatly looking forward to leading the new Casualty team at Acappella. Our collective experience of numerous market cycles, combined with Acappella’s operational capabilities, provides an exciting opportunity for us to build this new portfolio of business into a market leading offering.”
