ACE appoints North Africa head
Insurer ACE has appointed Ghassan Wazen as head of North Africa as it continues to strengthen its management capabilities.
The new role is a promotion for Wazen, who currently serves as regional business development manager for ACE in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Wazen will manage the future development, strategy and the overall performance of ACE’s North Africa operations.
He will report to Mojgan Khoshabi, regional managing director for ACE in MENA.
Ihab Elawady, country president for Egypt and Kamal Kaabi, general manager for Tunisia will report to Wazden.
Giles Ward, regional president, Eurasia and Africa at ACE, said: “Despite the current uncertainties in North Africa, we believe that the market offers considerable long-term opportunity for ACE.
“Ghassan's appointment reflects the valuable and growing role that he has performed over the last few years, providing guidance and support for both our Egyptian and Tunisian teams. I am confident that his management experience, strong market relationships and local knowledge will be of great value as we continue to develop our business in North Africa.”
