Acrisure Re launches international facultative unit led by former Willis exec

Acrisure Re has hired Matthew Harvey as senior vice president to lead a new international facultative unit.

Harvey joins Acrisure Re from Willis Towers Watson where he was senior vice president, broker and producing broker for the international property team. He was responsible for the Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Canada accounts.

Before joining Willis in 2018, Harvey spent 16 years as a director at Aon in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. His role included broking and managing strategic accounts and policy wordings for multiple regions, including EMEA, APAC and Latin America. He has also held broking roles at JLT and HSBC.

In his new role Harvey is based in London and reports to Jason Howard, Acrisure Re’s group chief executive officer.

Howard said the international facultative business offers significant growth opportunities for Acrisure Re. Harvey, he added, “has developed an extensive network of valuable, long-standing global relationships which, accompanied by his vast knowledge and expertise, will be extremely beneficial as we expand this offering.”

Harvey said: “This is an opportunity to combine our knowledge and expertise to grow the business and, having worked in this industry for many years, I am confident in our success.”
