Allied World appoints VP to serve as country manager in Malaysia

Allied World Asia-Pacific, a subsidiary of Allied World Assurance, has appointed Ramesh Sivanathan as vice president (VP), and country manager in Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpar.

Sivanathan has almost 30 years of experience in the industry, having most recently served as Asia manager for financial lines at AIG Singapore.

Prior to this, he served as director of business development at Federal Insurance Company’s Labuan branch. He has also held the position of director for Willis Singapore.

Michael Garrison, senior vice president and head of insurance for Asia-Pacific, said: “Malaysia is a market with tremendous potential, and Ramesh’s arrival will allow us to put into action our growth plans for the country. We will be building out a strong presence on the ground, and will actively look to diversify our offering.”
