Rating agency AM Best has appointed Greg Carter as managing director, analytics for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets.
Carter will be based in the firm’s EMEA offices in London and will take on the role in September 2015. He will report to Roger Sellek, chief executive officer, EMEA & Asia Pacific.
The hire follows the return of Stefan Holzberger, previously managing director of analytics for EMEA to AM Best’s headquarters where he assumed the position of chief rating officer.
Carter will join AM Best from Ernst and Young’s, where he currently serves as director of insurance in the firm’s Hong Kong offices.
He has more than 20 years of rating agency experience, holding roles at Standard & Poor’s, AM Best Europe and Fitch.
Sellek said: “Greg brings with him his extensive knowledge of the insurance industry, broad commercial expertise, and both a depth and breadth of experience of the credit rating industry. We believe that he will be a strong addition to our analytical team as well as our senior leadership team for EMEA.”
