AmTrust International bolsters specialty unit with hires from RSA and Mapfre
AmTrust International, the UK and international arm of New York-based AmTrust Financial Services, has bolstered its specialty team with key underwriting hires from RSA and Mapfre.
Dean Kiernan joins the company's professional indemnity team as a senior underwriter, while Donna Stroulger joins as an underwriter in the property team.
Kiernan has 30 years of technical, operational and sales experience covering all main classes of commercial insurance underwriting, and will play an important part of AmTrust's plans to maintain its growth in the professional indemnity market.
He has specialised in underwriting professional indemnity insurance for 20 years having previously operated as lead underwriter, PI for RSA’s London Market & Global Risks team. Most recently, he held the position of underwriting leader at RSA where he was responsible for the delivery of underwriting capability for the London Market and South region professional and financial risks Team.
Stroulger also has over 30 years of experience of property underwriting in the London Market, and will focus on growing AmTrust International’s commercial property lines of business on a delegated authority basis.
She joins from Mapfre where she served as senior property underwriter. Prior to that, Stroulger was vice president property facultative at XL Catlin.
