Aon commits to Bermuda and casualty markets with key hire

Re/insurance broker Aon has hired John McElroy to join its reinsurance solutions team in Bermuda as head of casualty.

He will report to Tony Fox, chairman and chief executive officer of reinsurance solutions in Bermuda.

Fox said: “John brings with him an impressive amount of experience in the casualty sector, and we believe this will be important in helping our clients to navigate the evolving exposures in this area.”

Andy Marcell, CEO of reinsurance solutions, added: “Welcoming John to our Bermuda team represents one of a number of steps we are taking to assess and mitigate existing and emerging casualty exposures on behalf of our clients. We are committed to Bermuda and the Casualty markets, and are deploying capabilities that reflect their importance to our clients’ businesses.”
