Aon hires Aspen talent to lead US Reinsurance Solutions’ actuarial unit

Re/insurance broker Aon has hired a long-serving Aspen executive to lead its US actuarial team in Reinsurance Solutions business as executive managing director.

Tim Aman will focus primarily on building the team’s commercial client relationships, ensuring it has the capabilities to address portfolio-level modeling and emerging areas of risk and innovating how it serves clients. Based in New York, he will report to Brian Alvers, global chief actuary and head of casualty analytics.

Aman has more than 30 years’ industry experience, having spent 15 years at Montpelier Group and Aspen Group, most recently as executive vice president of Ceded Re at Aspen, leading its group outwards reinsurance strategy. He also served as chief risk officer at Montpelier and Aspen, and spent 10 years at Guy Carpenter, both as an actuary and a broker.

Alvers said: “As a client of Aon during his career, Tim has had first-hand experience of how our actuarial colleagues can bring tremendous value to the relationship and help shape better decisions. We believe that he will be a valuable addition to our team in supporting and driving future growth, assisted by his wide-ranging industry relationships, many of which will be complementary to what we have now. We are excited to add someone of his caliber to the team as we help our clients navigate new forms of volatility.”
