Aon hires PartnerRe executive for reinsurance solutions unit

Re/insurance broker  Aon has hired a PartnerRe executive to expand its capabilities in the US.

Tasha Barbour (pictured) has joined the managed Care team of Aon's Reinsurance Solutions as managing director.

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, she will focus primarily on new business development, including bringing innovative reinsurance and stop-loss solutions to support a variety of Managed Care organisations nationally. She will report to Christina Mendez, Aon’s national managed care reinsurance practice leader.

Barbour joins Aon from reinsurer PartnerRe, where she was chief business development and marketing officer. An underwriter with extensive managed care expertise, she will support Aon’s evolving healthcare market opportunities, such as those focused on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Programs. Barbour previously worked at Swiss Re, GE Insurance and KPMG.

Bob Black, executive managing director of Reinsurance Solutions’ accident, health and life team, said: “As the dynamic Managed Care market continues to evolve, Aon has a continued focus on expanding our team and developing our thought leadership to support our clients’ risk, capital and growth strategies. Tasha’s wealth of experience in the sector and reputation in the market is a perfect fit, and we are very excited to have her on board.”
