Aon makes key appointment to chief broking officer role

Re/insurance broker Aon has appointed Ben Rolfe in the key role of managing director, broking and chief broking officer, Australia.

Rolfe will focus on leading and enhancing Aon’s client-led approach to broking strategy across commercial risk, health solutions and the Affinity business, including go-to-market strategies and relationships with insurers.

Rolfe was previously chief operating officer, responsible for all areas of the wider broking team including claims, placement, structured portfolio solutions, One Underwriting (MGA) and Aon Carrier Link.

Rolfe joined Aon Australia as the Northern region manager for programme design and placement in 2007 from The Global Broking Centre in London, where he managed the Australasian property book.

James Baum, chief executive officer, Aon Australia, said: “Following an extensive internal and external search for the role we are delighted to appoint Ben to this crucial role at Aon, holding strategic oversight of Aon's broking function. Ben’s leadership and technical capabilities combined with his relationship management skills means he is ideally positioned to build on the great work established across the broking division.”

Rolfe said: “I am delighted to lead this high-performing team and continue to demonstrate a world-class approach to client-led broking support. The industry is currently facing a number of unique challenges and I am excited to drive our broking strategy and assist our clients through these uncertain times.”
