Aon taps new cyber solutions head for Asia Pacific region

Global re/insurance broker  Aon has appointed a senior lead to oversee its cyber solutions portfolio across the Asia Pacific region, addressing the new exposures in cyber security arising from digital evolution.

Adam Peckman (pictured) has been named head of cyber solutions, Asia Pacific.

Under Peckman's leadership, Aon’s cyber solutions in Asia Pacific will bring together cyber broking, security advisory, incident response and risk consulting capabilities across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Peckman will also retain his existing role as global head of Aon's cyber risk consulting practice to provide governance and strategic direction for cyber consulting resources in the Americas, UK, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.

Peckman joined Aon in 2011 and has held a number of senior roles in London and New York, including founding Aon’s first cyber consulting practice in 2016 as the global practice leader. His broad experience includes corporate governance, enterprise risk management, security risk assessments and quantification, as well as insurance strategy.

Tracy-Lee Kus, head of Commercial Risk, Asia Pacific, at Aon, said:  “We are thrilled to have Adam in the region and leading our continued growth in this market. The enormity of cyber risk has never been greater, and the biggest challenge organisations face is staying informed about the evolving cyber risk landscape.

“The threats vary widely by industry, size and region. An APAC-wide approach means our clients will receive holistic cyber solutions, which address pre- and post-incident, cyber security, risk transfer and incident response. Our latest investment in the region reinforces Aon’s leadership in this sector and will enable us to offer differentiated solutions to our clients that help them make better decisions.”

Peckman said: “Only two in five businesses are ready to navigate new exposures arising from the rapid digital evolution we’ve witnessed across all industries in the past 24 months. Cyber risk cannot remain an IT risk or issue; it requires an enterprise-wide strategy. Our integrated cyber portfolio will deliver the analysis, insights and solutions across the region to empower our clients to build sustainable cyber resilience amid increasing volatility.”

“There is nothing linear about cyber security and every organisation needs an adaptive and ever-evolving model to approach cyber risk,” he added. “At Aon, we are building these capabilities - around our Cyber Loop model – to deliver more integrated solutions to meet the complex needs of clients. Our focus on strengthening collaboration across the cyber solutions teams in Asia Pacific and globally will ensure we bring the best of our cross-functional capabilities to guide clients through the growing challenges of cyber security.”
