Aon unveils global power committee

Aon Risk Solutions has created a global power committee to support the increasing needs of the power industry as it looks to tackle new and existing power risks.

Aon has appointed European power specialty leader, Denis Waerseggers, as committee chair. He will be responsible for coordinating a structured global and multidisciplinary approach to provide clients local access to industry expertise across 120 countries.

Joining Waerseggers on the committee are Aon Risk Solutions’ global power specialty members Tom Sexton, head of renewable energy, Rob Hale, head of operational risk, Brian de Bruin, head of construction and nuclear and Gemma Avey, strategy development manager.

Aon Risk Solutions’ global power specialty supports some of the world’s largest power and utility organisations, placing over 500 gigawatts into the global insurance market.

Warren Mula, Aon global chief broking officer, said: “Power generation is evolving and increasing in complexity with new techniques, technology and locations, all potential risk triggers.

“The strength and expertise of Aon Risk Solutions’ power specialty across the globe is unmatched and the formation of this committee demonstrates our commitment to solving the increasing challenges facing our clients.

“The joint structure of our global power specialty and Global Power Committee ensures we are best-positioned to empower our clients to achieve their goals and deliver results for their organisations. Denis is an outstanding leader in the industry on both the broking and client side and I look forward to working with him in this new role.”
