ARAG partners with insurtech Dinghy to launch freelancer offering

Germany-based legal expenses insurance provider ARAG has teamed up with insurtech startup Dinghy to offer legal services and protection to freelance professionals.

Dinghy currently offers professional indemnity, public and cyber liability products, as well as cover for business equipment to independent professionals, primarily in the IT, creative and wider consultancy sectors.

“Dinghy have really hit on a market that is ripe for this sort of technological disruption,” said George Bladon, corporate account manager at ARAG. “More and more people are working independently, and they tend to be time-poor but also conscious about their overheads.

“Dinghy have made it quick and easy for them to buy insurance that suits their needs, without unnecessary cover and cost. Once they’ve bought it, Freelancer Assist helps them to manage all sorts of legal responsibilities and issues that can be really time-consuming and expensive for a micro-enterprise.”

Dinghy co-founder Rob Hartley, commented: “Legal expenses insurance inevitably tends to focus on the risk of employment disputes, but that sort of cover is irrelevant to freelancers. ARAG has been great in putting together a package that really suits our specific customers at a price that reflects the cover but offers huge value to them.”
