ArgoGlobal poaches StarStone trio for political violence and war lines

ArgoGlobal, a Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, has hired three underwriters from StarStone to insure risks associated with political violence and war, which is a new segment for Argo’s Syndicate 1200.

Henry Gillingham joins as political violence and war class underwriter, while Chris Marsh as underwriter, and Chris Sparrow as underwriting assistant.

Gillingham has nearly two decades of underwriting experience, he joins from StarStone where he served as head of political violence and war after earlier roles at Talbot.

Marsh joins from StarStone where he served as underwriter of terror and political violence. Prior to that, he spent five years in the terrorism and political violence division at Neon Underwriting.

Sparrow joins from StarStone where he served as underwriting assistant.

Marsh and Sparrow will report to Henry Gillingham, while Gillingham will report to Jeremy Shallow, head of specialty.
