Aston Lark-backed Spring lands AXA XL's FI leader; secures Beazley capacity

Managing general agent (MGA) Spring Partners, a joint venture of Goldman Sachs-backed broker  Aston Lark, has renewed its financial institutions capacity deal with specialist insurer  Beazley, and hired a lead underwriter from  AXA XL.

Emma Stanford joins Spring with a wealth of experience in the financial lines industry, most recently as head of UK financial institutions at AXA XL.

Spring has renewed its capacity support for financial institutions with Beazley for a further 12 months starting July.

Jeremy Miles, CEO of Spring Partners, said: “We are excited that Emma has chosen to join Spring. As a leading underwriter within our sector, Emma brings a blend of experience, expertise and energy to the team. From the outset our aim has been to attract the best talent into our business and this appointment clearly demonstrates that desire.”

Stanford added: “Joining the Spring team at this point in their growth curve is a fantastic opportunity. I am really looking forward to working with the highly experienced team and helping Spring continue to establish itself as a leading MGA in the sector.”

Russel Kilpatrick, chairman of Spring, commented: “The relationship with Beazley has gone from strength to strength over the last year and we are delighted to continue this partnership. We have had an extremely successful first year and this demonstration of trust and support from a market-leading Lloyd’s Syndicate is testament to the hard work and progress that has been made.

“Renewing our Financial Institutions capacity with Beazley is very positive news for Spring and allows us to continue our journey to become one of the pre-eminent specialist MGAs in our chosen field of expertise. We are grateful for the confidence that has been shown in our business and look forward to continuing a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Beazley for many years to come.”

Adam Parr, financial institutions underwriter for specialty lines at Beazley Group, added: “We are delighted to partner with Spring for another year, and we hope this capacity for the next 12 months helps to support its ongoing success.”
