Australian bushfire insurance losses reach A$700m ($480m)

Insurers have received 8985 bushfire-related claims since September from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, according to the Insurance Council of Australia. Many more claims are expected to be lodged in coming days and weeks. Insurance losses stand at $700 million ($480 million).
