Aviva Asia chair to exit amid overhaul; new international CEO revealed
Aviva has appointed AIG's Adam Winslow to the newly-created role of chief executive officer (CEO) international, as part of a strategy overhaul of the insurance giant.
The company has announced that Chris Wei, executive chairman for Asia, will be leaving the insurer in June 2021 following the recent divestment of its Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong businesses.
Winslow will join Aviva in January and will be responsible for the company's international businesses in continental Europe and Asia. He will join the group executive committee, reporting to CEO Amanda Blanc.
Winslow has two decades of experience in the international insurance industry and is currently chief executive officer, global life insurance, at AIG. He has previously held several CEO roles at AIG, responsible for life insurance across a number of markets. Winslow was also a former director of partnerships and director of retail at Aviva UK.
