AXA XL names Bermuda healthcare leader after bringing home old vet

Re/insurer  AXA XL found a new leader for its Bermuda healthcare excess casualty business, promoting a long-time underwriter it had only recently brought back into its own fold.

Kareen Richardson (Pictured) will step up to become head of healthcare in the Bermuda insurance excess casualty business. She has over 27 years in the industry, beginning at what was then XL Insurance in claims and casualty underwriting, but then moving on to a healthcare underwriting post at Endurance and a leadership role at Integro Insurance Brokers. She returned to AXA XL only in 2019.

AXA XL’s head of excess casualty in Bermuda Vivienne Moniz commented: “We congratulate Kareen on this well-deserved advancement. Her vast industry knowledge and experience in healthcare has been an asset to the Excess Casualty Team, particularly as we navigated our business through the global pandemic.”

The CEO of AXA XL Insurance in Bermuda, Patrick Tannock, added: “At AXA XL we pride ourselves on having adaptability and agility. Kareen has demonstrated both in her approach to building her professional career as well as delivering value to the business. We look forward to what she will accomplish in her new role.”
