Beazley appoints head of aviation

Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed Dirk Froese as head of aviation from May 2016 to coincide with the planned retirement of the current leader, David Oates.

Froese joined Beazley in 2012 as head of general aviation and has extensive experience after working in the aviation underwriting market for many years.

Clive Washbourn, head of Beazley's marine division, said: "Dirk is a well-known and respected figure in the market and it is testament to David Oates' leadership that we have such a strong team from which to select a successor.

"Chris Sheard will continue to play a key role in the team, as head of airlines, working closely with Dirk to maintain the excellent reputation we have created in the aviation market and helping to ensure a smooth leadership transition."
