Beazley poaches Chubb financial lines head in Singapore

Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed Nicholas Tey as financial lines regional manager for Asia.

Based in Singapore, Tey will be responsible for the development of Beazley’s specialty business across Asia, which encompasses a suite of products tailored to the local market including professional indemnity, management liability, cyber risks, financial institutions and the healthcare sector.

Tey joins Beazley from Chubb, where he was head of financial lines in Singapore. Previously, he held senior underwriting positions with XL, AXA and AIG in the region.

Gerard Bloom, Beazley’s head of international financial lines, said: "We see significant opportunity in Asia and have an increasing set of specialty products designed for the local market, which includes the broad cover for cyber risks that Beazley has been offering to US companies since 2009.

"Nicholas’s experience and relationships make him ideally placed to spearhead Beazley’s growth in the region across this entire range."
