Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has confirmed that it has poached two senior executives from the Asian operations of American International Group (AIG).
It has hired Marc Breuil, who headed AIG's country operations in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and Marcus Portbury, regional head of casualty for the Asia Pacific region.
The company has been in the process of boosting its operations globally. It also established a US commercial insurance, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, business last year.
This newly formed unit is reportedly applying for licenses in Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore and Europe as well as recruiting talent.
In July, it also entered the fiduciary insurance business and hired Rhonda Prussack, AIG's vice president to run it.
