Canopius adds Willis Towers Watson credit, political risk underwriter for Asia expansion
Specialty re/insurer Canopius has appointed Jamie Jeffers as underwriter, credit & political risk, for Asia Pacific, effective September 9.
Jeffers will join from Willis Towers Watson, where he served as executive director, financial solutions – credit and political risk.
Based in Singapore, he will report to Yann Marmonier, head of insurance, Asia Pacific & MENA, and Bernie de Haldevang, head of specialty, in London.
Canopius said Jeffers will support the company’s ambition to expand in the Asia Pacific region by targeting bank and corporate business.
Marmonier said: “Jamie brings the balance of skills essential for Canopius to capitalise on the significant credit and political risks opportunities emanating from the region. His appointment signifies the importance of CPRI to Canopius in its continuing expansion across the Asia Pacific and it gives me great pleasure to welcome Jamie to the team.”
